Joseph Harryfowler Connick Sr.

New Orleans-based lawyer and father of musician and actor Harry Connick, Jr. He became District Attorney of New Orleans in 1973.
He joined the United States Navy during World War II. He later studied business at Loyola University, New Orleans and law at Tulane University.
He and his wife established two New Orleans music stores.
His first wife, Anita Livingston, was a professional flautist-turned-attorney. The couple raised two children: Suzanna and Harry Connick, Jr.
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas defended Connick against charges of wrongful handling of New Orleans murder cases.
