Jon McBride
Astronaut
NASA astronaut who piloted a 1984 mission aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger. He later served as a NASA administrator and an aviation executive.
He achieved the rank of Captain in the United States Navy.
His second space mission was deferred following the 1986 Challenger disaster.
He married Sharon White.
He and Sally Ride were both on the crew of NASA's STS-41-G Space Shuttle mission.
