Played the role of Shane Walsh on AMC's zombie drama The Walking Dead and later became Frank on Marvel's The Punisher. He followed executive producer Frank Darabont to TNT's drama miniseries Mob City in 2013. His film credits include Fury, The Ghost Writer, and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
He studied at The School of Moscow Art Theater in Russia.
He played professional baseball in the European leagues.
In 2010, he married Erin Angle, the niece of Olympian Kurt Angle. The couple have three children together.
He starred in several episodes of the HBO miniseries The Pacific alongside James Badge Dale.
