Born John Reuben Zappin and better known by his stage name of John Reuben, this Christian hip-hop recording artist received a Dove Award nomination for his 2009 album Sex, Drugs and Self-Control.
His first EP, Monuments, earned him a recording deal with Gotee Records. He recorded his debut Gotee label album, Are We There Yet?, in 2000.
His 2007 album, Word of Mouth, was enthusiastically praised by Allmusic.com reviewers.
He grew up in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio, as the son of a music producer.
His Professional Rapper album featured additional vocals by Christian singer Adrienne Camp.
