Longtime center back on Ghana's national team who joined FC Nitra in 2014. He played for Rennes from 2006 to 2008 and Sunderland from 2009 to 2011.
He made his professional debut with Bellinzona at age 18.
He helped Ghana secure an Africa Cup of Nations silver medal in 2010.
His half-brother Ekow Benson also became an international soccer player.
He played against Marco Reus and Germany's national team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
