He was the first MLB player from the Virgin Islands.
In 1960, he helped the Pittsburgh Pirates win the World Series.
He was born and raised in Frederiksted, US Virgin Islands.
His Pittsburgh Pirates team won the 1960 World Series following the their game seven walk-off home run hit by Bill Mazeroski.
