Football coach at all levels from 1954-1980, most notably as head coach for the CFL's BC Lions from 1967-1969.
He was a versatile two-way player who played one season for the NFL's New York Yanks.
He won the 52nd Grey Cup as defensive coach of the BC Lions.
He was born in Tillatoba, Mississippi.
His final stint came in 1980 as defensive line coach for a Green Bay Packers team coached by Bart Starr.
