She worked for Petra, a German women's magazine, as fashion editor.
In 1975, she debuted her collection in Paris, where it was not well-received. After releasing her first perfume, the brand steadily began to be recognized.
From a young age, she admitted to having told her family how to dress.
Many celebrities, including Tilda Swinton, are fans of Sander's sleek clothing.
