One of the best Australian rules footballers of all time, he scored 343 goals over 15 years years with Essendon F.C.
He took piano and ballet lessons briefly during childhood, and played rugby and soccer before turning to Australian rules football.
Over his long AFL career, he earned multiple scoring awards, and after retirement, he was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame.
His mother was a teacher and his father worked for the Australian government.
Shane Crawford was another inductee into the Australian Football League Hall of Fame.
