Professional catcher that was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates during the seventh round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He began his professional career playing for the State College Spikes of the New York-Penn League.
Prior to being drafted, he attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where he was named a member of All-ACC second-team during his senior season.
He made his major league debut playing against the Chicago Cubs on June 19, 2016.
He lives with his wife, Amy Beth, and their two sons.
He recorded his first career major league hit facing Johnny Cueto.
