Eddie Latheron
Soccer Player
Late English soccer player who played for the Blackburn Rovers from 1906 to 1917. He was killed in the Battle of Passchendaele while serving as a member of the Royal Field Artillery in World War I.
He played youth soccer at for the South Bank Corinthians and made his senior debut for Grangetown Athletic.
Blackburn Rovers fans gathered around his grave to hold a ceremony in his honor on the ninetieth anniversary of his death.
His was survived by his wife, Bertha, and his son, Walter.
He and striker Joe Garner both played for the Blackburn Rovers.
