Ivan Kukuljevic Sakcinski

Historian and politician who gave the first speech delivered in Croatian before Parliament. He was a pioneer in Croatian historiography and bibliography.
He attended the military academy of Krems, Austria.
He founded the Society for Yugoslavian History and he became the chief judge of the Varaždin County in 1845.
He was born in Varazdin.
He was one of the leaders of the Illyrian movement, of which poet Stanko Vraz was a follower.
