Swedish heavyweight boxer who caused a sensation when he knocked out Floyd Patterson in 1959.
He was disqualified in the gold-medal match at the 1952 Olympics, because he spent the better part of two rounds barely throwing a punch.
In his rematch with Floyd Patterson, he knocked Patterson down a few times, but eventually lost.
He proposed to his girlfriend Brigit just before the Patterson rematch.
He played a Marine in the 1960 film "All the Young Men," with Alan Ladd and Sidney Poitier.
