Ibrahim Maalouf

Trumpet player, composer, and teacher known for his work in the classical, jazz, and jazz-rock fusion genres. He released several studio albums, including Diachronism, Illusions, and Wind.
He studied trumpet at the age of seven, and his father taught him a variety of genres and styles, including classical Arabic music and improvisation.
He was the 2010 winner of the Instrumental Revelation of the Year Victory Prize.
He was born into a musical and intellectual family. His family members fled to Paris in the middle of the Lebanese Civil War.
Maalouf and Elvis Costello both performed in Welcome to the Voice.
