Darren Barrett

Trumpeter and jazz musician who is recognized for having been the winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in 1997. He would go on to teach at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
After high school he attended Humber College's Jazz program in Toronto, Ontario.
In 2017, he released an album titled The Opener.
He was born in Canada.
He has collaborated with fellow musician Elvin Jones.
