Eisner Award-winning comic book author who wrote about Corto Maltese. He won the Best Foreign Comic Book Award at the Angouleme Festival for his work Indian Summer.
He briefly worked for Argentine publisher Editorial Abril in Buenos Aires.
In 2005, he was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame.
He spent a large amount of his childhood in Venice, growing up in a very progressive, cosmopolitan family.
He and comic writer Stan Lee are both recipients of the Eisner Award.
