Horace Gregory
Poet
American poet, academic, translator, and literary critic known for Medusa in Gramercy Park, Another Look, and other works. He was a 1965 recipient of the prestigious Bollingen Prize.
He studied at the University of Wisconsin and later taught English at Sarah Lawrence College. He published his debut poetry collection, Chelsea Rooming House, in 1930.
His poems often focus on the bleakness of the modern landscape.
