Henry Scriven
Religious Leader
Bishop in both the English Anglican Church and the American Episcopal Church.
He studied at the University of Sheffield and at St John's College, Nottingham before being ordained by the London Diocese in 1975.
He served in Argentina with the South American Missionary Society before holding such high-ranking positions as Assistant Bishop to the Pittsburgh Diocese and, in Europe, Suffragan Bishop.
He had a son and a daughter with his wife, Catherine.
His ancestor, Joseph Scriven, wrote a poem that was set to music as the popular hymn, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."
