Henry Iba
Basketball Coach
Oklahoma State basketball coach led the team to two national titles and coached the U.S. Olympic basketball team in three straight Olympics.
Never playing professional basketball himself, he went straight into coaching, starting with the Maryville Teachers' College and then the University of Colorado.
Arguably his most memorable game came in the gold-medal game at the 1972 Olympics, when the U.S. lost to the Soviet Union 51-50 under controversial circumstances.
He grew up in Easton, Missouri.
Doug Collins swooshed the two free throws that put the U.S. up by one with three seconds to go in the 1972 gold medal game, but then more time was added and the Russian team scored to win.
