He was a High School All-American when he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox.
He hit more home runs than any other left-handed hitter in Chicago White Sox history at the time of his retirement.
He had four children with his wife Marla.
He won a World Series ring in 2005 when he was the bench coach for Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen.
