He started working as an artist at a young age and painted murals and religious works.
He created the standard image portrait of Henry VIII.
His father, Hans Holbein the Elder, was also a painter and he had an older brother named Ambrosius.
Leonardo da Vinci's smoky technique in his paintings influenced his work.
