Gus Henderson
Football Coach
Legend of University of Southern California football, his winning percentage in six years with the team was the best of any Trojans coach on record.
Arriving at USC in 1919, he gave them national recognition when he led them to a 6-0 record in 1920.
Under his leadership the Trojans went to their first Rose Bowl appearance, defeating Penn State 14-3, and moved out of Bovard Field to the adjacent Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
He was born in Oberlin, Ohio.
His win-loss record was better than that of John McKay or John Robinson or any of the other great Trojan coaches that came after him.
