World War II-era intelligence officer for the American Office for Strategic Services.
He served with the U.S. Army as well as with the OSS.
He was a key organizer of Operation Halyard, a World War II mission that rescued American airmen from Serbia.
His wife, Mirjana Lazich, passed away in 2003.
He and fellow war hero Michael Hayden both earned Bronze Star Medals.
