George Bowden

Australian politician who represented Gippsland in the Australian parliament from 1943 to 1961.
He joined the Australian Imperial Force when he was twenty seven and fought on the Western Front during World War One.
He was a farmer by profession and represented the Australian Country Party in the Australian House of Representatives.
He never married, but was cared for by his sister in his older years.
He was serving in the Australian parliament when Queen Elizabeth II took the throne in 1952.
