He attended Providence Christian Academy prior to enrolling at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
He made his major league debut pitching against the Baltimore Orioles as a member of the Red Sox on April 4, 2021.
He is a native of Snellville, Georgia where he grew up living with his parents, Larry and Janet Whitlock.
He played alongside Xander Bogaerts during the 2021 MLB season.
