He earned a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1997.
He flew on the Space Shuttle Atlantis mission STS-132 in May 2010.
He married Simone Reisman.
He, like Steven Hawley , has flown on five NASA space missions.
