Franz Wright
Poet
Austrian-American poet who received the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Walking to Martha's Vineyard. His other poetry collections include Kindertotenwald, God's Silence, and The Beforelife.
He attended Oberlin College. One year prior to his graduation, he published an early poetry collection entitled Tapping the White Cane of Solitude.
He translated the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke.
His father, James Wright, was also a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet. He married Elizabeth Oehlkers in 1999.
He was influenced by Dylan Thomas.
