Francisco Palencia

Mexican former soccer player who played as a striker for clubs like Cruz Azul, with whom he won multiple titles in the late 90's and early 2000's. He represented his native Mexico at many tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, Olympic Games and FIFA Confederations Cup.
He was born in Mexico City and was named Rookie of the Year in his first season in Primera Division de Mexico.
He led Mexico to its first-ever FIFA Confederations Cup title in 1999.
He married Lourdes Palencia in 2004.
He played alongside Mexican captain Rafael Marquez at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
