Ernst Ruska
Physicist
German physicist who earned a Nobel Prize in 1986 for designing the world's first electron microscope. His electron microscope allowed scientists to see subatomic particles.
He studied electronics at the Technical College in Munich, later getting his practical experience at Siemens, in Berlin.
He was a professor at the Technical University of Berlin from 1957 until his death.
His father Julius Ruska was a university professor.
Werner Heisenberg was another German Nobel Prize winner who contributed to the study of particle physics.
