Ephraim Isaac

Renowned scholar of ancient Semitic Languages & Civilization and African/Ethiopian Languages and Religion and peace activist.
He was the founder and first professor of Afro-American Studies at Harvard University and the namesake of the Ephraim Isaac Prize for Excellence in African Studies.
He established the ad hoc Peace Committee in 1989 in the wake of much violence and bloodshed in his native land. The committee was designed to bring warring factions together to broker numerous bilateral agreements.
He was born, raised, and educated early on in Ethiopia, never losing his passion for his birth country.
His efforts for peace ran concurrent with those of Ethiopian religious leader Abune Paulos.
