Elmer Bischoff

American visual artist known for his work with the Bay Area Figurative Movement.
He attended the University of California, Berkeley and taught high school art in Sacramento, California.
He was elected to the to the National Academy of Design in 1973.
His son, John Bischoff, became a well-known composer.
He was a contemporary of avant-garde artist Mark Rothko.
