Eleni Kounalakis

Politician who has served as the 50th lieutenant governor of California as a Democrat. She became the first woman to assume the office in January 2019.
She earned a BA from Dartmouth College. She later gained her MBA from the UC Berkeley.
She served as the US ambassador to Hungary between 2010 and 2013. She earned an honorary law doctorate degree from the American College of Greece in 2011.
She has two children with her husband Markos Kounalakis.
She served as California's lieutenant governor alongside then-governor Gavin Newsom.
