His career in music began when he was fifteen years old.
Prior to his solo career he was in the bands Jimmy Sad Eyes Blue and Abraham.
Coming from a musical family his father is also a musician. He grew up alongside his two siblings.
His song "If the Creek Don't Rise" from his debut album features legendary country singer Emmylou Harris.
