He was drafted in the 10th round of the 1979 NFL draft after playing at Clemson University.
He had his #87 jersey retired after being a two-time All-Pro and two-time Super Bowl Champion with the 49ers.
He had three children with his wife Kelly Clark.
He received the game-winning touchdown pass from Joe Montana in 1982.
