Director of the acclaimed science fiction films Moon and Source Code. He is the son of rock icon David Bowie and Bowie's first wife Mary Angela Barnett.
His birth inspired his father to write the song "Kooks," which is included on the 1971 album Hunky Dory.
In 2013, it was announced that he would direct the 2016 film Warcraft, based on the popular video game franchise.
He spontaneously married photographer Rodene Ronquillo in 2012 on the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
His directorial debut Moon, starring Sam Rockwell, won the British Independent Film Award for Best Film as well as the BAFTA Carl Foreman Award, which recognizes an outstanding debut film by a British writer, director or producer.
