South African actor, producer and filmmaker who is the father of singer Doja Cat. He danced in The Lion King on Broadway and had a small role in the 1992 film Sarafina! which starred Whoopi Goldberg.
He worked on the 2003 and 2004 films Stander and Drum. He also made the 2008 documentary Of Journey, Home and Treasure.
In 2020, his daughter claimed she has never met him. He has denied her claims.
His ex-wife is American painter Deborah Sawyer. They have two children, one of whom is Doja Cat. He returned to South Africa after living in the United States for more than 15 years.
He worked in the art department for the film Stander, which starred Thomas Jane.
