Long time NFL coach and defensive specialist whose career spanned from 1985 to 2012. He was head coach of the Chicago Bears from 1999 to 2003 and the Buffalo Bills from 2006 to 2009.
He played in the NFL as a free safety, making it to the Pro Bowl in 1974.
His defensive philosophy was to aggressively rush the quarterback.
He spent his childhood in Peoria, Illinois.
He was the 12th head coach in Chicago Bears history, and the third, behind Mike Ditka and George Halas, to record at least 13 wins in a season.
