Intheir serial killer known as the "Son of Sam." During the late 1970s, he killed six people in the New York City area.
The illegitimate son of Betty Falco, he was later adopted by Pearl and Nathan Berkowitz.
Over the course of a year, he killed several couples who were kissing in parked cars. He left letters at the crime scenes that promised more murders.
He worked for the United States Postal Service, lived alone, and complained often about a neighbor's dog whose barking caused him terrible pain and stress.
He and Richard Biegenwald were both New York serial killers.
