He played wide receiver in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns from 1976 to 1983 and for the Denver Broncos in 1984.
He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds out of high school, and after attending the University of Colorado he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns and the NBA's Kansas City Kings.
His best season came in 1979, when he caught 982 yards and 7 touchdowns.
He was born and raised in South Dakota.
He was just the second person, joining Dave Winfield, to be drafted by an NFL, NBA, and MLB team.
