She had no prior vocal training before she performed on The Voice.
The day after winning The Voice, she landed a lucrative deal with Big Machine Records.
She was born and raised in League City, Texas. Her siblings include an older sister named Monica and three younger half-brothers named Drake, Drew and Collin.
She was a favorite of country singer and TV judge Blake Shelton.
