Famous for his folk and jazz fusion music, this acclaimed saxophonist formed The Daniel Bennett Group and collaborated with such notable musicians as Chris Hersch, Jason Davis, Bill Frisell, and Steve Kuhn.
He started playing the saxophone when he was just ten years old; by the age of nineteen, he was performing professionally. He studied music at Roberts Wesleyan College and the New England Conservatory.
He recorded several albums under his Bennett Alliance record label, including A Nation of Bears (in 2007) and Peace and Stability Among Bears (in 2011).
A native of Rochester, New York, he later settled in Boston, Massachusetts and New York City.
While studying at the New England Conservatory, he trained under fellow saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi.
