Damien Richardson

Series regular on the soap opera Neighbours as Gary Canning who had already experienced a substantial film and television career before landing the role in 2014. He played Detective Matt Ryan in City Homicide, Drew Greer in the Jack Irish TV movies, and starred in the 2002 film The Hard Word.
He graduated from Victorian College of the Arts in 1991, and also attended Flinders University.
He co-wrote a play called The Belly Of The Whale which won Best New Comedy-Drama award at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
He and his wife Nicole, a writer, had 3 children together before separating in December of 2016.
He starred alongside Guy Pearce and Joel Edgerton in The Hard Word.
