Opening batsman and chinaman bowler who made his domestic debut in 1997 for Western Australia. He played for New South Wales from 2003 to 2012 and joined Lancashire in 2013.
He attended the Australian Cricket Academy on a scholarship.
He made his international test debut in 2001 for England.
He married Georgie Katich during his career, and had his first child with her in 2011.
He became international teammates with Ricky Ponting.
