Midfielder who joined Aston Villa in 2017. He previously spent three years with Barnsley from 2014 until 2017. He has also played for Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town and Sunderland.
He played youth soccer at Sunderland from 2007 to 2009.
He scored his first goal on October 15, 2011, in Plymouth's 3-2 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge. He began playing for Ireland's national team in 2009.
He was born in Cork, Ireland.
Growing up, his idol was Irish midfielder Roy Keane.
