French sculptor who created a neoclassical style with Rococo charm. He sculpted La Baigneuse (Diane), finished in 1778.
He grew up in Paris and started creating art at a young age.
His most their piece was a marble Bather which was commissioned through the Bâtiments du Roi.
He was born into a well-established family of landscape painters in Paris.
He and Edouard Manet both grew up in Paris.
