American animator who worked on such 1920s and '30s short films as Alice's Wonderland and Bosko the Doughboy.
He worked on short, animated versions of Goldie Locks and the Three Bears and Jack and the Beanstalk at the start of his career.
He worked as a Cartoon Department production manager for MGM Studios.
He was born in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and he grew up mostly in Kansas City, Missouri.
He began his animation career with Walt Disney Productions, but he and a group of animators soon left Disney to form a new studio that was eventually named Warner Bros. Cartoons, Inc.
