Jazz double-bassist and prolific performer best known for being a long-time member of the Don Pullen/George Adams Quartet.
He started playing music at the age of ten but took up bass in high school, going abroad and working with George Russell's Sextet and Big Band.
He has performed on more than eighty recordings over the course of his life.
He was born and raised in Detroit.
His band The Hear And Now, featuring Dewey Redman, put out his first recording as a bandleader.
