He played football and basketball at Linden McKinley High School in Ohio.
He guest-refereed a WWF match between Hulk Hogan and Randy 'Macho Man' Savage in 1990.
His father William Douglas was also a professional boxer.
After the Tyson upset, he lost the title eight months later to Evander Holyfield.
