Boston legend who won the World Welterweight Championship in April, 1965. He compiled a career record of 58-12-1, with 33 of his wins coming by way of knockout.
His first professional fight ended with a victory, knocking out his opponent in the first round.
He was honored by the mayor of Boston with a street named after him, Tony DeMarco Way.
He was the second of three children born to Patricia Dempsey and Paul DeMarco.
He once fought on the undercard to another Massachusetts great, Rocky Marciano.
