Relief pitcher their for his bushy beard and quirky personality who won the World Series as a member of the San Francisco Giants in 2010. He was voted onto the National League All-Star team in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
He was an honor roll student at Londonderry High School.
His beard inspired chants of "Fear the Beard" from Giants fans during the team's 2010 World Series run.
His father, Mike, was a U.S. Air Force veteran who died while Brian was in high school.
He saved pitcher Randy Johnson's 300th career win in June 2009.
